How Does the
Process Work?

Survey & Quote

We begin with a free quote. We can visit your property for a survey or you can send a quick video survey. This allows us to assess what needs moving and provide a clear and competitive quote.

Packing

We can pack your items safely and securely, or if you prefer to pack yourself, we will supply everything you need. We also dismantle any furniture that requires it and ensure it's protected accordingly in transit. We'll always take extra care with fragile goods and have all the right packing requirements to ensure your belongings stay protected in transit.

Transport

Your belongings will then be loaded carefully into the van and transported to your new home! We will place items in the correct rooms and reassemble furniture if needed.

Packing Supplies and Services

If you do decide to go ahead with your initial quote, we’ll make sure you’ve got all the packing materials you require, including all varieties of boxes (specialist wardrobe boxes, TV boxes and standard cartons.)

Most of our domestic move customers tend to take us up on our comprehensive packing service, as our team has ample experience in packing goods for upcoming moves. We’ll always recommend you let us do this, however, if you choose to pack yourself, we highly suggest making sure all the materials and boxes you use are sturdy enough to be transported.

Short and Long Term Storage Solutions

If you should experience an unexpected delay or need to come into storage with us, we’ve got solutions to match both long & short term needs (subject to additional charges.) 

Please note, however, our storage facility is only available to access between the hours of 9am to 5pm.

Do we charge for key waits?

Unlike many other removals companies, we do not charge for key waits. If you choose to move with us, any additional delays are covered (within limits) in your final quoted cost.

Do You Have a Waste License?

We do not have a waste license. However, if you require waste disposal, we work alongside partners that can get the job done for you.

If your domestic or commercial move requires waste disposal, let us know and we’ll factor this into your quote/survey.

What carrying capacity do the vans have?

There’s no move too big for Soldiers On The Move.

We have an immediate fleet of Luton box vans and tail lift access. If your move requires a HGV, we can also accommodate through our trusted partners. If you have additional accessibility or capacity concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us directly and speak to one of our team.

Are you insured?

Yes. Fully insured and licensed.

What Time Will Soldiers On The Move arrive?

On the day of your move, our team will always aim to be there bright and early (usually between 8:30am and 9am) though this is entirely flexible depending on our customer requirements. If you need us to get there even earlier than 8:30am, we’ll be more than happy to accommodate (as long as you’ve got the kettle on!)

Please note: Availability may vary on long distance moves due to scheduling requirements.

What Are Your Cancellation Terms?

Unlike many other removal firms, we don’t take a deposit. If you’ve booked in and confirmed with us and need to change the date of your move, please get in touch with us and we’ll always try and accommodate.

If your booking has been confirmed and you cancel within 5 working days of your move, you may be subject to an administrative charge. This is reviewed on a case by case basis and not always applicable. Simple delays and date changes can always be accommodated. If you’re unsure, just get in touch with us and we’ll talk you through the process.

Do We Offer Military / NHS Discount?

We offer a 10% discount for ex/active military and NHS staff. We do not offer this discount to Blue Light card holders.

How Soon Can You Move Us?

We will always try and accommodate quick turnarounds, so if you have an urgent removal requirement, please call us today (0161 327 1981) or get in touch. If your move isn’t for the foreseeable but you’d like to book it in anyway, we’ll usually take a provisional date from you and follow up closer to the time.
