What areas do we service?

Do you offer packing services or supply packing materials?

If you choose Soldiers On The Move to handle your home or office move, we’ll supply packing supplies & boxes at no additional cost. We’ll always try and factor in fragile goods to make sure you’ve got the right packing materials to protect them in transit if you choose to pack yourself.

We always recommend our customers to let us pack their home move as we have ample experience with protecting fragile goods in transit, and know how to maximise space to minimize delays.

We also have dedicated packaging materials such as TV boxes on hand as an additional layer of protection. We can also export wrap high end furniture to keep them free from dust, dirt, grime or scratches.

Do you offer Short / Long Term Storage?

We offer both long & short term storage solutions. Our secure storage facility is conveniently located at our headquarters (Unit 7 Sidcup Rd, Wythenshawe, Manchester M23 9PH.)

If you can’t complete your move straight away, we can retain furniture & goods in our storage facility for as long as required (*subject to charges.) 

Please note, however, our storage facility is only available to access between the hours of 9am to 5pm.

Do we charge for key waits?

Unlike many other removals companies, we do not charge for key waits. If you choose to move with us, any additional delays are covered (within limits) in your final quoted cost.

Can you dispose of waste / unwanted goods / furniture?

We can’t directly. We are not equipped with a waste license. However, if you require waste disposal, we work alongside partners that can get the job done for you.

If your domestic or commercial move requires waste disposal, let us know and we’ll factor this into your quote/survey.

What carrying capacity do the vans have?

There’s no move too big for Soldiers On The Move.

We have an immediate fleet of Luton box vans and tail lift access. If your move requires a HGV, we can also accommodate through our trusted partners. If you have additional accessibility or capacity concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us directly and speak to one of our team.

Are you insured?

Yes. Fully insured and licensed.

What time will Soldiers On The Move arrive?

On the day of your move, our team will always aim to be there bright and early (usually between 8:30am and 9am) though this is entirely flexible depending on our customer requirements. If you need us to get there even earlier than 8:30am, we’ll be more than happy to accommodate (as long as you’ve got the kettle on!)

Please note: Availability may vary on long distance moves due to scheduling requirements.

What are your cancellation terms?

Unlike many other removal firms, we don’t take a deposit. If you’ve booked in and confirmed with us and need to change the date of your move, please get in touch with us and we’ll always try and accommodate.

If your booking has been confirmed and you cancel within 5 working days of your move, you may be subject to an administrative charge. This is reviewed on a case by case basis and not always applicable. Simple delays and date changes can always be accommodated. If you’re unsure, just get in touch with us and we’ll talk you through the process.

Do we offer a military / NHS discount?

We offer a 10% discount for ex/active military and NHS staff. We do not offer this discount to Blue Light card holders.

How soon can you move us?

We will always try and accommodate quick turnarounds, so if you have an urgent removal requirement, please call us today (0161 327 1981) or get in touch. If your move isn’t for the foreseeable but you’d like to book it in anyway, we’ll usually take a provisional date from you and follow up closer to the time.
