Recently, the team at Soldiers On The Move joined forces with another reputable veteran led moving firm Military Movers UK to conduct a joint operation up and down the United Kingdom. We coined this one ‘Operation Cadburys’ (primarily because we couldn’t think of a better name) and it went down an absolute treat.
Who are Military Movers UK?
Military Movers UK are a removals company founded on the principle of delivering exceptional domestic and commercial relocation services across Coventry, Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands.
Similarly to Soldiers On The Move, Military Movers UK pride themselves on their precision focused & methodical approaches to removals, and are also an ex-Veteran moving firm.
We have a good relationship with the team over at Military Movers UK as they share the same passions and objectives as us, which are to provide exceptional moving services to our customer bases whilst also leaning on the core principles instilled into us by our time in the Armed Forces.
Not only does this give us a real boost as far as customer satisfaction goes, but it also reinforces our mission statement of supporting the Armed Forces community as a whole.
Mission Briefing
The operational briefing was clear. We had to collect bespoke sweet display units on behalf of Cadbury from opera houses and venues across the UK and safely transport them to a central holding facility located in Coventry.
To maximise efficiency and maintain tight scheduling, the mission was strategically divided into two operational sectors. The south and the north. The south was managed by Military Movers UK, and the North (including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Sunderland, York & Stoke-on-Trent.)
Each collection presented its own logistical considerations including restricted loading access, tight street access and limited parking. Communication between Soldiers On The Move and Military Movers was constant throughout the job to make sure everything stayed on schedule.
The military backgrounds, instilled discipline and key attention to detail across both companies made this operation much easier than it should’ve been, leading to one very happy customer.
It just goes to show… If you want a job done properly, get the Soldiers in.
Mission Complete
Once all display units had been successfully collected, the final phase of the operation commenced: delivery to the designated holding facility in Coventry.
Once the final handover was marked as complete, the operation was deemed a success. Our vans were returned back to our respective depots, the kettles flicked on and our teams powered down, ready for a new mission the day after.
Every unit was delivered safely, securely and punctually. A real testament to what can be achieved with two veteran-led moving teams divide and conquer.
